Corundum Mullite Plastic Refractory Description
Corundum mullite plastic refractory is an excellent plastic refractory which’s raw materials comprise: corundum and mullite aggregate & powder matrix, binder, additive and water or other liquid. After the raw materials are adequately mixed and compounded in the mixer, they will be extruded and cut into green brick shape, then packed and stored in cool place. Corundum mullite plastic refractory still has great plasticity after 3-6 months’ storage and can be applied in to electric furnace, kiln, steel rolling furnace, circulating fluid bed boiler and other high temperature industrial furnaces and equipments. Corundum mullite plastic refractory combines the advantages of corundum plastic refractory’s abrasion resistance and chemical erosion resistance as well as mullite plastic refractory’s creep resistance and thermal shock resistance, which greatly enhance corundum mullite plastic refractory’s refractoriness, rupture modulus, thermal shock resistance and prolonged service life significantly compared with normal plastic refractory. The working temperature of corundum mullite plastic refractory is usually between 1300℃~1600℃ and the plasticity index generally between 15%-40% to ensure the material not too soft or too hard.

Corundum mullite plastic refractory is usually used as repair material and furnace inner protective lining material for a wide range of industrial thermal equipment such as blast furnace, hot blast furnace, electric furnace, kiln, circulating fluid bed, garbage incinerator, catalytic cracking unit and so on. Corundum mullite plastic refractor can be put into use by painting or ramming without using mould, especially for special-shaped or structurally complicated parts where is the key position and directly affect furnace lining’s service life and thermal efficiency. One important thing to be mentioned is that metal or non-metal anchoring parts should be used to enhance service life when corundum mullite plastic refractory is used in industrial application.
