What’s the Low Cement Castable?

Low cement castable is a new type of castable with little combination dose. The key is to adopt the particles less than  1μm. Its thermal shock resistance, slag resistance and corrosion resistance were significantly improved, exceeding that of the same kind of refractory bricks.

Reasons for low cement castalbe intergral pouring

1. Low cement castable refers to the castable with lower cement content. The cement content of refractory Cement Castables is generally 15% to 20%, the cement content of Low Cement Castables is about 5%, and some even reduce to 1% ~ 2%. The purpose of reducing cement dosage is to improve the refractory performance of castables.
2. Low cement castings depend on the addition of several special raw materials to obtain good performance. Firstly, pure calcium aluminate cement can obtain the required strength due to the high content of effective minerals CaO Al2O3 with less incorporation. Secondly,  silica fume, glass beads with a SiO2 content of 93% to 98% and an average particle size is about 0.5 m. After adding silica fume, the castable has good fluidity, low water requirement and low sintering temperature, so that improved the performance after heat treatment. Thirdly, alumina powder is easier to participate in the reaction and improve the fire resistance of materials. Fourth, water reducing agent can adsorb on the surface of the powder and produce electrostatic repulsion to disperse the powder so as to further play the role of micro powder.
3. Low cement castable is a high technology refractory material developed on common castables by rheology theory, the most closely packed theory and ultrafine powder technology. It has the characteristics of low porosity, small pore size, large density, good volume stability, high strength and small water adding, and overcoming the characteristics of the strength of the ordinary castable at 800~1200 C, and rising with the increase of temperature, so that the thermal shock of the furnace can be increased by more than one times.
