Heat setting refractory mortar is a blend of aggregates and binders that are not only high temperature resistant, but also are acid-resistant. Heat setting mortar is in the dry form usually packed in bags and needs to be mixed with water during application. RMA-80 refractory mortar is suitable for setting bricks and can also be supplied at a thinner consistency for dipping bricks, coating, and spraying.
RMA-85 refractory mortar is usually used in steelworks and foundries where high temperatures are encountered, such as setting high alumina bricks for safety linings in pouring ladles and setting bricks and purging nozzles in continuous casting tundishes.
RMA-90 has higher purity and higher refractoriness and stability for specialized applications such as setting sliding gate plates, purging nozzles, and setting pre-cast shapes.
