Low cement castable refractory refers to a kind of new type with a small amount of binding agent. The key is to use ultrafine particles less than 1 μm. Its thermal shock resistance, slag resistance and corrosion resistance were significantly improved, exceeding that of the same kind of refractory bricks.
Generally, low cement castable refractory refers to a refractory castable with less cement added to the binder. The cement content of low cement refractory castables is only 5%, and some can be reduced to 2%~1%. Its wear resistance, slag resistance, folding resistance and erosion resistance are equivalent to refractory bricks of the same material, and even higher than refractory bricks of the same material. Low cement castable refractories are mainly high alumina, mullite and corundum refractory castables. This series of refractory castables has the characteristics of high strength, erosion resistance, wear resistance and excellent performance.

Because of the characteristics of low porosity, small pore size, large density, good volume stability, high strength and small water adding, and overcoming the characteristics of the strength of the ordinary castable at 800~1200 C, and rising with the increase of temperature, so that the thermal shock of the furnace can be increased by more than one times. With these characteristics, the low cement castable refractory is widely used as linings in reheating furnace and other industrial furnaces.
