Description of Direct Bonded Magnesia Chrome Bricks
Direct bonded magnesia chrome brick is made of high pure or sub high pure or fused magnesia and concentrate. Direct bonded refers to a combination of direct contact between solid intergranular. The material of this brick is high pure magnesia that the SiO2 content below 2% and chrome concentrate and it is made by high temperature sintering. The direct bonded degree is reduced with the reduction of SiO2, increase with the temperature rising.
Characteristics of Direct Bonded Magnesia Chrome Bricks
The direct bonded magnesia chrome brick with less impurities, sintered by the high temperature and ultra high temperature, glass phase concentrate upon the triangle area of crystalline phase, direct bonded between crystalline phase and crystalline phase, it has the characteristics of low porosity, high compression strength, strong abrasive resistance, anti-erosion, ant–knock and good anti-stripping.
Application of Direct Bonded Magnesia Chrome Brick
The direct bonded magnesia chrome brick is widely applied to electric-arc furnace, copper smelting converter furnace, RH.DH vacuum treatment equipment, external refining VOD furnace, AOD furnace, cement rotary furnace.
Manufacture Process of Direct Bonded Magnesia Chrome Brick
In order to form direct bonded, the content of SiO2 should be low and improve firing temperature. The SiO2 content of direct bonded magnesia chrome brick generally less than 2%, the firing temperature is between 1700~1800℃. The forming of direct bonded is a process of dissolution and precipitation. The increase of the chrome concentrate fine is beneficial to the formation of direct combination. Thus, the proportion of chrome concentrate refine in ingredient should be careful.
